Hello, and welcome! I'm Roxann Pazdera, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and owner of Birch Grove Family Therapy.
I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to feel understood, supported, and connected to the people who matter most. Whether your family is navigating emotional challenges, behavioral concerns, family conflict, or the aftermath of a mental health crisis, my goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where healing and growth can occur.
I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and families experiencing difficulties related to emotional regulation, attachment, anxiety, family relationships, and transitions following higher levels of care. I am particularly passionate about helping caregivers better understand their children's emotional needs while strengthening the parent-child relationship.
I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Wisconsin. In addition, I completed a fellowship in Infant, Early Childhood, and Family Mental Health through the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This specialized training deepened my understanding of child development, attachment, early relationships, and family systems, allowing me to support children and families from a relationship-centered perspective.
At Birch Grove Family Therapy, I strive to create a warm, collaborative environment where children feel safe, caregivers feel supported, and families can work toward lasting change together.
I look forward to being part of your family's journey.

My work is grounded in evidence-based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and attachment-focused interventions. I tailor treatment to each client's individual strengths, challenges, and goals while maintaining a strong focus on relationships and connection. I also recognize that children's behaviors often communicate underlying emotional or developmental needs, and I work closely with caregivers to better understand and respond to those needs.
Some sessions may focus on developing practical coping skills, improving emotional regulation, or addressing specific concerns. Other sessions may provide space to explore emotions, strengthen family relationships, and gain a deeper understanding of patterns that may be contributing to current challenges.
Above all, I strive to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where children, teens, and caregivers feel heard, respected, and empowered. I view therapy as a collaborative process and work alongside families to create meaningful, lasting change.

When a child or teen returns home after psychiatric hospitalization, partial hospitalization (PHP), or an intensive outpatient program (IOP), families are often left wondering, "What comes next?"
Having worked as both a Clinical Social Worker in an inpatient psychiatric hospital and a therapist within an Intensive Outpatient Program, I understand the challenges that can arise during this transition. The period following discharge is often a critical time for maintaining progress, strengthening coping skills, and preventing setbacks.
I provide ongoing support to help children, teens, and families navigate life after intensive treatment. Together, we focus on building emotional regulation skills, improving communication, reinforcing safety plans, and addressing the underlying concerns that led to treatment in the first place. My goal is to help families feel supported, connected, and confident as they move toward lasting stability and continued growth.

I work with children and caregivers to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and better understand the emotional needs underlying challenging behaviors. Together, we build healthier patterns of interaction that foster trust, connection, and resilience. My specialized training in Infant, Early Childhood, and Family Mental Health allows me to support young children and their caregivers through developmental, behavioral, and relational challenges.
